It’s said that Art is formed in the mind and created with the hands, but we believe that art comes from the heart and soul. Our “Art from the Heart 2” contest was filled with an overwhelming amount of talent, creativity, and heart! We are extremely grateful to the talented Cathy Taylor for being willing to take on the difficult task of selecting the winners for the competition. Here are the winning pieces as well as the Honorable Mentions in both categories. Congratulations and thanks to all our winners and entrants.
Juror´s statement
“This is by far the most difficult contest I have ever juried. The artistic level is incredible. You all deserve to be showered in Citrasolv! Congratulations to every one of you! As my task was to sort out the best of the best, I used several criteria. 1. Is the use of Citra papers predominant? 2. How well do the elements of the composition work; line, shape, color, texture, and space? 3. Does the artist successfully convey their intention…do we feel the artist? As in any competition, it comes down to the judge or judges.. Another judge may have made different choices. But every artist here is appreciated for their wonderful work.”
